What's your Issue? -- Montage/Collage
rules
all materials must be scanned or photographed. no web imagery -- well... unless they are printed and rescanned.
if text/letterforms are used -- it must be "found" text/letterforms -- you may not use the title tool -- unless you use the same loophole as above
Photoshop Selection tools, masking, copy/paste, layers, file structure, and organization will be used extensively for this project. As a result, file sizes will be quite large. Consideration of Repetition, Symmetry, Positive/Negative Space, Open/Closed Composition, and image clarity will enhance and make aesthetic the "issue" that is represented conceptually through this work.
Due 8/23
A. Research the montage artist links in the post below. Write a succinct (500 words or less) review of 1 artist and post it to your blog.
B. Post a project statement to your blog. Have a well developed concept you believe in. Solidify your idea until you can tell anyone what your project is about. Know your concept inside and out.
Include in your statement:
Explanation of Theme. -- Themes describe the overarching goals or big picture questions that a project attempts to answer.
Explanation of Tone and Execution -- What's your approach. What will it look/feel like? Your aesthetic choices should compliment the project's theme. You may include Links out/include examples.
Explanation of Objective -- What is the goal of this project?
C. Bring Materials to class to scan.
Timeline:
8/23 Steps A,B and C above due.
8/28 Collection and Capture of Source Material. Master Sketch and Final Project Statement.
8/30 Final Critique

occur even in young physically fit individuals. Paul Marxhausen – visit his
